The response to the recent reports about the future of the Wimborne Food Festival has been fantastic - and organisers are promising to make it even bigger and better than before.
The local media recently reported that the 2011 Festival was under threat because of some key sponsors having to reduce their level of commitment for financial reasons. But the local community and businesses have been quick to rally round and organiser Clare Kavanagh is in talks with a number of organisations to secure the future of this popular event.
"We had a couple of setbacks, but I'm confident that we're back on track," said Clare. "I'm in talks with a number of local traders and I would welcome having a chat with any other business who are interested in getting involved.
"They only have to look at last year's event to see what the Festival can offer - great food, great atmosphere and great fun. It's also great exposure for their business - 10,000 people visited last year - and the bottom line is that it gets the cash tills ringing!"
